Celebrating and Sharing DEI Work at UWL
Welcome to the first edition of Patchwork for the 2023-24 academic year. In this issue, we are excited to bring you stories spotlighting the diversity efforts on our campus and community. In a time when a lot of different narratives are being tossed around about what DEI is and does, we thought it might help to hear from and about the people who are participating in and benefiting from that work. Whether it gets the label or not, there is DEI work being done all around UWL all the time, with dedicated faculty and staff providing opportunities, guidance, and support to students who are every day achieving great things. These people come from every walk of life. Collectively, they tell a remarkable story about this institution and the greater La Crosse community. We are proud to provide you a few small glimpses into that larger story, through the eyes and words of our D&I staff, campus partners, and the students we serve.
