Emergency funds are needed to help students who have lost their jobs or who are facing other unexpected financial hardships

Alumni and friends of the university, I’d like to extend my warmest regards to you and your family during these uncertain times. I hope you and your loved ones are doing all you can to stay safe and healthy. While this is not the semester any of us envisioned, UWL students continue to impress us with their talents and resilience. But this Coronavirus crisis is impacting their lives in extreme ways and we need your help. Many UWL students rely on jobs that no longer exist because of closures on campus or in the community. Many do not have family who can provide financial support, because their households are also struggling to make ends meet. Without income, they cannot afford rent, groceries or technology essential to continuing their courses. These students are truly on their own, but you can extend a hand. Emergency funds are needed to help students who have lost their jobs or who are facing other unexpected financial hardships. UWL is already rallying around these students, but there is only so much we can do. It’s up to us to ensure this pandemic will not prolong students’ progress toward their degrees, their careers, their hopes and dreams. Please consider an urgent gift to the UWL Emergency Relief Fund. Your gift extends a hand to UWL students who need it most. In a time like this, we need you to support members of your UWL family who cannot support themselves. We are in this together, and we will get through this together. Thank you, as always, for supporting UWL. Take care, Joe Joe Gow, Chancellor University of Wisconsin-La Crosse PS- Click here to make a donation. Your quick response provides emergency assistance for UWL students who need your support.
