A UW-La Crosse Wind Ensemble concert will feature a top military trumpeter.
Gunnery Sgt. Michael Mergen will join the ensemble for a concert at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center.
Mergen, a member of the “President’s Own” U.S. Marine Band, will perform “The Kennan Trumpet Sonata.” The Wind Ensemble will also perform the “March from Symphonic Metamorphosis” by Paul Hindemith, works by Faure and Bassett, and Donald Grantham’s “Kentucky Harmony.” UW-L Professor Thomas Seddon directs the ensemble.
The recital is free and open to the public.
