More than 2,000 incoming students expected on campus over the next three weeks

The UWL campus is just about ready for another major influx of students on campus. Over the next three weeks, about 2,150 incoming students and their families will be learning everything they need to know during START before they begin school this fall. START is UW-La Crosse's one-day immersive orientation for the incoming first-year students. They hear from representatives across campus to prepare them for their first day at college – including housing, dining, wellness, safety and many other topics. They will also register for their fall classes. Sarah Joslyn, UWL First-Year Coordinator, would like to remind UWL staff and faculty to be extra friendly and helpful, especially if someone on campus looks lost. "This is likely the first thing they're doing as a UWL student," says Joslyn. "We're excited to remind them why they picked La Crosse and to help make them feel like it's home." START occurs June 11, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, 21, 22 and 25. An online program is available.
