The UW-L Foundation will award 400 scholarships totaling about $325,000 during the Student Scholarship and Awards program at 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 30, in Valhalla, Cartwright Center.
The UW-L Foundation awards an additional $150,000 in scholarships at other times throughout the year.
Starting this January, UW-L students had the opportunity to apply for scholarships using a new online system, which replaced paper applications. It resulted in a large increase in applications with a total of 11,000 applications submitted by 2,300 students, says Sara Olson, UW-L Foundation scholarship coordinator. Recipients have been notified and 200 students plan to attend the reception.
