Evening celebration of food and entertainment from around the world is April 6 at UWL
Enjoy food and entertainment from around the world during the 2019 International Banquet Saturday, April 6, at UW-La Crosse.
The annual event runs from 6-9 p.m. at the Union Bluffs Ballroom, UWL Student Union, 521 E. Ave. N. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time online or by calling 608.785.8877.
During the annual banquet, international students, staff, faculty and community members share diversity and culture through songs, dances and more.
An internationally-themed buffet will include salads, entrées and desserts from a variety of countries including: United Kingdom, Denmark, China, Jordan, Iran and Ghana. A variety of meat and vegetarian options will be available.
This marks the 54th anniversary of the International Banquet, organized by UWL International Engagement & Education.
Azerbaijan - Human Health in the Land of Fire
Prior to the banquet, Robert Jecklin, UWL assistant professor of Health Education & Health Promotion, will present “Azerbaijan - Human Health in the Land of Fire” from 4-5 p.m., in 3130 Student Union. Jecklin traveled to Azerbaijan in spring 2018 as part of the U.S. Fulbright Scholarship Program.
Global Citizenship Showcase
Prior to the International Banquet, a poster session and display of the area's global reach runs from 5-6 p.m. in The Bluffs Foyer, Student Union. The display includes international experiences and international projects from UWL international students, study abroad students, faculty and community members.
