Free drinks and snacks, extended hours, de-stress resources and more!
Another semester is almost over, and Murphy Library is here to help you finish it out strong! We have many resources available to help you do your absolute best during finals week!
Extended Hours
The library will be open later for finals from December 14th - 20th. For additional service hours including Reference, Special Collection and more, see our hours page.
- Thursday - Friday, December 14 - 15: 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.
- Saturday, December 16: 7:30 a.m. to midnight
- Sunday, December 17: 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.
- Monday - Tuesday, December 18 - 19: 7:30 a.m. to 1 a.m.
- Wednesday, December 20: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
We also have some extra study space available in room 121 on the main floor of the library and in room 153 located in the atrium starting Saturday, December 9 - see building floor plans.
Snack Break
Murphy Library and Dining Services are providing free drinks and snacks in the library near Murphy's Mug on the following days:
- Thursday, December 14 at 5:30 p.m. - Free coffee, lemonade and COOKIES!
- Friday, December 15 at 5:30 p.m. - Free coffee and lemonade
Note: Everything is first-come, first-served. Cookies are only available on Thursday.
De-stress Resources
Need a study break to help you de-stress? Try one of the following:

- Coloring supplies are available at the Circulation Help Desk!

Research Help
Research help is available through December 10 during our normal hours at the Research Assistance Desk or by phone, email, chat, or appointment.
From December 11-20, research help is available by email or appointment.

Cite Your Sources
Writing up your bibliography can be tricky, but librarians have put together a Citing Sources guide full of tips and resources to help you create your citations.
Tutoring
Tutoring sessions are available in person in the Murphy Learning Center in Murphy 251 and 273. Additionally, The Writing Center and Public Speaking Center offer sessions through video via the MLC course in Canvas. More information can be found on the MLC webpage.
