Military promotion ceremony held for 2004 alumnus on campus.
Family and friends filled the Veterans’ Hall of Honor on the UW-La Crosse campus on Nov. 20, as Erik Thomasgard, ’04, was promoted to Major in the U.S. Army Reserve.
He chose to have his ceremony at his alma mater because of the family ties he has here. Not only is he an alumnus, but his wife, two sisters and cousin also attended UWL, and his great grandfather grew up in the city.
“It meant a lot to me to have my family here today,” says Thomasgard.
Thomasgard is stationed in Madison as part of the 3rd Medical Recruiting Battalion.
