University welcomes Class of 2028 with engaging activities
UW-La Crosse (UWL) is set to launch its New Student Orientation (NSO) from Aug. 29 to Sept. 2, marking the beginning of an exciting chapter for the incoming Class of 2028. The orientation events will offer a variety of activities designed to help new students acclimate to campus life and connect with their peers.
Among the highlights is the annual class photo, where students will gather on the field at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex to form the Eagle L, commemorating their entry into UWL. Another popular event is the Moonlight Mile, where students will run a mile through an illuminated campus at 9 p.m., finishing with festivities including games and music under the stadium lights.
In addition to these signature events, orientation will feature social hours, yard games, trivia competitions, and athletic events. Eagle Guides, experienced upperclassmen, will lead sessions covering campus involvement and tips for navigating the first semester.
“With so much happening during the first weekend, new students are sure to discover exciting opportunities to engage and prepare for their upcoming journey at UWL,” says Colleen Schulz, New Student and Family Programs coordinator.
The first day for fall semester classes at UWL is Sept. 3.
