Students plan events La Crosse, Onalaska

Undergraduate students in the Recreation Management Leadership and Programming in Recreation course have planned holiday-themed events Saturday, Dec. 8, in La Crosse and Onalaska. The events help them build leadership skills and knowledge with programming, while providing fun activities in the community.

Rocking Around the Omni Center

Want to enjoy holiday-themed dancing, a live band, snacks and prizes? UWL students have partnered with the City of Onalaska Parks and Recreation Department to host “Rocking Around the Omni Center” from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Omni Center in Onalaska. During the holiday-themed dance event for senior citizens, participants will have the opportunity to dance to a live band while socializing and enjoying free snacks, beverages and chances to win prizes. Santa’s Workshop Extravaganza

Area families with children 6-10 years old will have the opportunity to create crafts, play games, meet Santa. “Santa’s Workshop Extravaganza” runs from 5:30-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Black River Beach Neighborhood Center, 1433 Rose St., in La Crosse. The event is co-sponsored by the City of La Crosse Parks and Recreation Department. Admission is $5 per child and includes a light meal. If interested, register online or call 608.789.8640.
