The fall semester chancellor's address is Wednesday, Sept. 2, in the new Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. The rain site is Graff Main Hall Auditorium. At 10:30 a.m., Chancellor Joe Gow will give his address. A brief ground-breaking ceremony for the new Centennial Hall immediately follows at 11:45 a.m. near the Hoeschler Clock Tower. A picnic in the Graff Main Hall yard is scheduled after the ground-breaking ceremony.
The picnic menu includes chicken breast, hamburger or garden burger with baked beans, potato salad, cole slaw, canned soda, UW-L Centennial Cake and ice cream. Cost is $6.75. Download, print and fill out the reservation form at www.uwlax.edu/chancellor/Picnic-All-Univ2009.pdf and return it and payment to 223 Cartwright Center. Make checks payable to UW-La Crosse. Those ordering by mail will pick up tickets at the luncheon. The last day to purchase tickets via campus mail is Friday, Aug. 21. Walk-in purchases at 223 Cartwright Center will be accepted through Friday, Aug. 28.
Classified staff will be granted 1-1/2 hours of release time as long as adequate office coverage is ensured.
