UWL hosted a ceremonial groundbreaking for the new Science Labs Building on Wednesday, Nov. 16. UWL hosted a ceremonial groundbreaking event for the new Science Labs Building.

Monty said in 1966 the Cowley Hall of Science supported 56 instructional faculty. Today, most departments have trippled in size, leading to 135 total faculty crammed into the buidling. Aaron Monte, Chemistry & Biochemistry, spoke on behalf of the faculty about the importance of the space in the new Science Labs Building for faculty and students. Monte said in 1966 the Cowley Hall of Science supported 56 instructional faculty. Today, most departments have tripled in size, leading to 147 total faculty crammed into the building.
