Student vote continues today

Posted 12:02 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014

A UW-L student referendum and election process has been extended until 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, for UW-L students who were not included in the original vote.

A UW-L student referendum and election process has been extended until 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, for UW-L students who were not included in the original vote. Students received an email and link to vote Tuesday, April 15, however, a technical glitch meant that about 600 students were not included. The Student Association elections were on the ballot as well as three referendum:
  • Responsible Action Policy: Question asks whether students are interested in a policy that would protect students from being charged for underage drinking if they call campus police for help when they or another student are dangerously intoxicated.
  • REC Expansion: Question asks whether students want to pay an additional $14 a year in student fees to build a 30,000-square-foot addition to the Recreational Eagle Center.
  • Constitution changes: Question asks whether changes should be made to the student association constitution that would revise how committees are organized, allow for judiciary oversight over the election process and revision of words deemed obsolete.
