Winter adventures abound in the Coulee Region and UW-L’s Outdoor Connection Equipment Rental is available to make them happen.
The rental service, located inside UW-La Crosse’s Recreational Eagle Center, rents snowshoes, sleds and toboggans. Staff just purchased new cross-country skis and ice skates for rental. They also have airboards, inflatable sleds made of a thick material, which provides added control and comfort while sledding.
Prices range from $2 to $8 for the winter equipment rental. Discounted rates are available for UW-L faculty, staff and students.
“We want to remind people that all of this gear is here and inexpensive, so they can get the most out of what we have in our backyard,” says Nathan Barnhart, assistant director of UW-L Recreational Sports.
The Outdoor Connection staff are also a resource for trip planning. Equipment reservations are recommended, however, walk-ins are welcome.
