Cold weather has set in. Students are preparing for finals — some for commencement. And the holiday season is officially here. Catch up on the latest happenings around UWL as the fall semester enters the home stretch.

Students from the College of Business Administration presented their research at the Entrepreneurship Research Conference hosted by UWL's Menard Family Initiative. The two-day conference covered a range of topics related to entrepreneurship, such as regulations and licensing, economic development, and the effects of automation and artificial intelligence.


Marlie Voigt, a senior majoring in art education, demonstrates printmaking techniques. This fall, Voigt had two pieces accepted into Press Forward, a national student printmaking exhibition in Houston, Texas.

During Caps off to Commencement, students learned about managing money, searching for jobs and preparing to take the next step in their lives and careers.

David Elzinga, assistant professor of mathematics and statistics, recently presented “Baa-ttling Sore Mouth in Sheep” at a symposium in Richmond, Virginia. Elzinga is using mathematical models to help farmers stop the spread of the infectious disease.
The UWL football team soared past Minnesota Morris, 62-7, in its first home playoff game since 2006. The Eagles advanced to the NCAA III Quarterfinals before falling to North Central College (Ill.)
Thanks to a research project by recent grad Casey Christ, UWL has adopted a more sustainable and cost-effective method of snow removal: brine. Here, Christ breaks in the new equipment with Sustainability Manager Andrew Ericson (middle) and Director of Facilities Management Scott Brown.
