An urban agriculture farmer will share her experiences during a UW-L presentation. Gretchen Mead of The Victory Garden Initiative in Milwaukee will speak at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, in 1400 Centennial Hall. The presentation is free and open to the public.
Mead will focus on the importance and practice of urban agriculture. Based on experience in her organization, The Victory Garden Initiative, she will discuss its mission of connecting individuals to healthier, more socially just and sustainable food production.
The event is sponsored by Students for Sustainability and is part of the group's fall Sustainability Series.
