TEDxUWLaCrosseLive viewing party

TEDxUWLaCrosseLive is a live stream of the international TED2016 conference in Vancouver, Canada.

TEDxUWLaCrosseLive TEDxUWLaCrosse will host a TEDxUWLaCrosseLive viewing party from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 16, in 121 Murphy Library. Members of the campus community are invited to stop by for any or all of the livestream and watch the amazing talks, demonstrations and performances broadcast from the TED conference in Vancouver, Canada. TEDxUWLaCrosseLive is a live stream of the international TED2016 conference, “Dream.” TED2016 will be dedicated to the greatest dreams people are capable of dreaming. “It will be a week to stare hard at humanity’s toughest challenges, to listen to our greatest thinkers, artists and storytellers. A week to stir the blood,” according to the TED organization. The TEDxUWLaCrosse team will be on hand and other campus TED fans will be around all day watching the live talks, have discussions and making new friends in the TED community on campus. There are three presentation groupings within the live stream with breaks throughout the day. Groupings run as follows: Imagination. Invention. Ingenuity. 9-10:45 a.m. featuring — Wanda Diaz Merced - Sonic astrophysicist Holly Cohen - Occupational therapist, tinkerer Mae Jemison - Astronaut, engineer, entrepreneur, physician and educator Joseph Ravenell - Men’s health advocate Ameera Ahmad - Fixer Franz Freudenthal - Pediatric cardiologist Blitz the Ambassador - Afrobeat/hip-hop artist Lifehacks 12:15- 2 p.m. featuring — Tim Urban - Blogger, cartoonist Adam Grant - Organizational psychologist Brian Little - Personality researcher John McWhorter - Linguist Noah Zandan - Data Scientist Kio Stark - Stranger enthusiast Deep Memory 3-4:45 p.m. featuring — Norman Lear - Television producer, activist Moran Cerf - Brain Hacker Kenneth Lacrovara - Paleontologist Tabetha Boyajian - Astronomer Silk Road Ensemble - Musical explorers Sarah Parcak - Satallite archaeologist + TED Prize Winner A more detailed schedule of the presentation and speaker bios is available on the TEDxUWLaCrosse Upcoming events page and on the TED2016: DREAMS website.
