Info session at UW-L to discuss the Affordable Care Act

How will President Obama’s Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) affect you? Find out at an info session Sept. 25 on campus.

Wondering how President Obama’s Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) will affect you? Who needs to get new insurance? Will it cost more than you pay now? What if you don't need insurance? An evening session in La Crosse will attempt to answer those questions and more. The “Affordable Care Act & You Information Session” runs from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, in 1309 Centennial Hall. The program is free and open to the public. Free parking is available in any campus commuter lot that evening. Open enrollment in new initiatives begins Oct. 1 in new health insurance marketplace. The session is geared especially for: • those on Badger Care Plus (WI Medicaid); all will be affected • people without health insurance who will have new requirements • any Wisconsin resident unsure about how Obamacare affects their health care coverage The session is co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of the La Crosse Area, American Association of University Women (AAUW), AMOS and UW-L Continuing Education and Extension.
