Management Professor Abroad
Dr. Nicole Gullekson, a Professor of Management at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, has received a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program grant for the Spring 2025 term. She will be teaching and working on faculty development in Global Leadership & Consulting at the University of Economics in Bratislava, Slovakia. As part of her project, Dr. Gullekson will research global leadership practices and explore the challenges women face in leadership roles in both Slovakia and the U.S. She also plans to build stronger academic and industry partnerships that will pave the way for future collaborations after her time in Slovakia.
The Fulbright Program, established in 1946, offers U.S. scholars the chance to teach and conduct research abroad. Over the years, it has supported more than 400,000 scholars, including Nobel Laureates and Pulitzer Prize winners, to engage in cross-cultural exchanges and tackle global challenges. Funded by the U.S. Department of State, the program operates in over 160 countries and involves more than 800 U.S. scholars and 2,000 students annually.
