An insurance industry financial executive will share her story from attending college at UW-La Crosse to her everyday work. Angela M. Sikowski will speak on “The Mother of Success: One Woman’s Journey to the C-Suite” at the UWL College of Business Administration's first 2017 Executive Lecture Series at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, in the Skogen Auditorium, 1400 Centennial Hall. The presentation is free and open to the public. A reception follows in the Hall of Nations, 1300 Centennial Hall. Sikowski is the chief financial officer of Ansay & Associates LLC., a leading independent insurance agency that manages insurance and risk needs of more than 5,000 businesses and over 20,000 personal insurance clients in Wisconsin and the Midwest. Sikowski currently oversees the agency’s finance, human resources and information technology functions. Advancing through a series of promotions, she has played a key leadership role in implementing procedures and programs for the firm’s continued success. Sikowski’s story of perseverance and success goes beyond the corporate C-suite. Her journey has included overcoming career roadblocks while raising a family with her husband of 14 years, and serving her community as treasurer for the local business improvement district and historical society. In her personal time, she is a dance mom and enjoys gardening, cooking and running. Sikowski earned a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from UWL in 2002. She is currently completing a master’s at Concordia University in Mequon. She also holds a property & casualty insurance license. The 2017 UWL College of Business Administration Executive Lecture Series is sponsored by Citizens State Bank. The series provides students and faculty to hear about business management and leadership directly from business leaders. It supports the college’s mission to foster academic excellence, career success and community engagement through enriching, interactive experiences. This event is coordinated by the UWL Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. For more information about the series, see www.uwlax.edu/cei or call 608.785.8648.
