Students reflect on expectations they had coming to UWL

One year ago, Lilly Blum and Casey McClure weren’t sure exactly what to expect when they would start their freshman year in the fall. At orientation, they heard about several offices on campus and met fellow incoming students, but the true college experience was still a few months away. Now as they’ve wrapped up their first year on campus, they feel they’ve really hit their stride. The newest crop of freshmen will be coming on campus starting June 13 for Student Advising, Registration and Transition (START). Incoming students will be on campus just about every weekday through June 27. The goal is to prepare these students to feel successful, just like Blum and McClure. “I’m very happy I came here,” says Blum.
