Mayor 's Neighborhood Conference set for April 11

Transportation to be discussed at Mayor's Neighborhood Conference in Myrick Park.

UW-L's Car Share Program is one topic of discussion slated for the second annual Mayor 's Neighborhood Conference on Transportation set for 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, April 11, in the Myrick Center in Myrick Park, 2000 La Crosse St. Keynote speaker President and Co-Founder of Strong Towns Chuck Marohn will discuss how knowing the difference between a road and a street can help local governments spend less money on transportation, attain better results and improve their financial health. Other sessions at the conference include:
  • Coulee Vision
  • La Crosse Transportation Vision 2015
  • Bike Share: Alternate Transportation
  • The Driftless Region Bike Coalition
Marohn's free presentation is sponsored by a grant from the Fowler and Hammer Fund of the La Crosse Community Foundation. Morahn is also the keynote speaker at the pre-conference "Curbside Chat" at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 10, in the Reinhart Center Board Room Viterbo University.
