Students encouraged to enter art show

Students from across campus can submit artwork for the university’s annual All-Student Juried Exhibition. Work is due Monday, Feb. 25.

Students from across campus can submit artwork for the university’s annual All-Student Juried Exhibition. Students may submit up to three works for judging. Students do not have to be art majors to participate. Judges will award several cash awards to works of exceptional merit. Submissions must be delivered to the University Art Gallery, first floor of the Center of the Arts, between noon and 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25. Judging will be Friday, March 1, with an announcement of works accepted for the exhibition at 3:30. Cash awards and prizes will be announced during the exhibition’s opening reception from 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 8, in the University Art Gallery. The exhibit runs through March 30. Entry forms are available at University Art Gallery, the Department of Art office and online under current events at: www.uwlax.edu/art. Official All-Student Art Exhibition rules: Exhibition dates: March 8-30, 2013 1.  All entries must be submitted to University Gallery, 100 CFA, between 12-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25. 2.  All entries must use appropriate entry forms, with appropriate identification tags securely attached to each entry. Entry forms will be available in Department of Art Studios, University Gallery and the Department of Art Office. 3.  Each student may submit a total of three (3) entries. Collaborative entries will be accepted. Total entries may not exceed three (3). 4.  Entries may not have been shown in a previous UW-L All-Students Juried Exhibition. Works may not be more than two years old. 5.  All entries must be submitted to the gallery in a professional manner.
  • 2-D Work (prints, drawings, photographs, etc.), if unframed, should have image surface protected with acetate, slip sheet or be matted.
  • Alternative format work should clearly indicate installation requirements.
6.   Framing work prior to judging is encouraged but not required.
  • Accepted works, which are being framed, may be removed from the gallery March 1 after 4 p.m. Framed work must be returned to the gallery between noon-5 p.m. Monday, March 4.
* Work not returned March 4 will not be included in the exhibition.
7.  Consult a member of the Department of Art Faculty if you have questions.
Additional info:                                                                                                                                                                    *A list of accepted works will be posted at 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 1, on the gallery door. *Judges will make a brief statement addressing submitted work after 3:30 p.m. in University Art Gallery. *Works not selected for the exhibition must be picked up 4-5 p.m. Friday, March 1, or 12-5 p.m. Monday, March 4. *The University Art Gallery will not be responsible for unselected works after March 4.
