Freedom Fest, an annual celebration of veterans and active duty service members, is set for Saturday, June 16, at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.

Freedom Fest, an annual celebration of veterans and active duty service members, is set for Saturday, June 16, at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.
The event marks its fifth anniversary this year with musical performances by Steve Miller Band, Foreigner, The Remainders and the 451st Army Band. Freedom Fest also features a commemorative motorcycle ride and special tribute to Wisconsin’s Fallen Heroes — the men and women from Wisconsin who have died serving the U.S. since Sept. 11, 2001.
All proceeds from Freedom Fest benefit veterans' causes, including the Veteran Memorial Stadium Hall of Honor at UW-L and a scholarship fund that has awarded $60,000 to returning service members over the past four years, including several UW-L students. Since the event’s inception in 2008, Freedom Fest has raised nearly $300,000 for veterans' causes.
Discounted Freedom Fest tickets are available for $35 (plus tax) during the event presale running Friday, April 13, through Friday, April 20. Stop by the UW-L Foundation Office in the Cleary Alumni & Friends Center from 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Friday, April 13, or Monday through Friday, April 16-20, to purchase tickets.
