UW-La Crosse Professor Emeritus James Theler will share fascinating archaeological discoveries and regional research from his 30 years studying ancient people and environments of the Coulee Region and Midwest. Theler, a retired professor of Archaeology, will present “13 millennia in 30 years: An archaeologist's take on coulee country and beyond” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, in Port O’ Call, Cartwright Center-Gunning Addition. The James P. Gallagher Award in Archaeology Excellence will be presented to Ruthann Benson, dean of UW-L’s College of Liberal Studies
The Archaeology Education Award will be presented to Norskedalen Nature and Heritage Center
The Regional Archaeology Award will be presented to Jay Bittner, a local collector
