UW-L Fulbright Scholar to discuss living in Palestine

A UW-La Crosse assistant professor of history will share stories of Palestinian children and their experiences with modern forms of warfare.

Heidi Morrison, who recently returned from a 10-month Fulbright fellowship in the West Bank, will present “Listening to Children Voice Their Experiences With War” from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Nov. 1, in the Hall of Nations, Centennial Hall. The presentation is free and open to all. Morrison lived in Ramallah during her fellowships, conducting oral history research on Palestinian children who grew up during the second intifada. She also taught seminars at Birzeit University’s Ibrahiem Abu Lughold Institute of International Studies. Morrison will also share her general experiences living in the Palestinian occupied territories. The program is part of the fall meeting of the Seven Rivers Chapter of the Fulbright Association and is hosted by the UW-L Health Education and Health Promotion Department.
