This live-broadcast will be Saturday, June 8, at the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center main theatre. The program is produced by Wisconsin Public Radio and distributed by PRI-Public Radio International. Claflin, who attended the show the last time it was broadcast in La Crosse about 20 years ago, says he’s a long-time fan. He’ll likely be talking about the biology of the massive mayfly emergence in the area, but he adds he has no script. He looks forward to the opportunity to answer whatever questions come up. “I’ve been listening for a number of years, so I’m excited about the opportunity to meet Michael Feldman,” says Claflin. “I’ve admired his program.” Other guests from La Crosse include Rep. Ron Kind, musician Mike Munson and Pearl Street Brewery Brewmaster Joe Katchever. Claflin was a professor and department chair of Biology at UW-L. In 2001, he retired and has been working with Habitat for Humanity for the past seven years and currently serves as board president for the La Crosse Area affiliate of Habitat. He currently studies the river from his small boat with a fishing rod, birding binoculars, often a good book, and his grandchildren when he's really fortunate, according to the WPR program website. Tickets are available by calling 608.791.3100 or online The show airs on Wisconsin Public Radio WHLA 90.3 FM from 10 a.m. to noon
