It’s time to stock up on books for winter reading.
Murphy Library at UW-La Crosse will hold a book sale from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Sept. 14 and 15. The sale runs in Room 270.
Prices for books are:
magazines: 25 cents
paperbacks: 50 cents
hardcovers: $1
DVDs/CDs: $1
Blu-rays: $3
Standard prices exclude the Collector’s Corner and other items priced as marked.
The sale includes a large selection of history, political science and fiction books. There is also a large selection of children’s picture books, chapter books and educational materials.
Special promotions are planned both days. From noon- 3 p.m. Thursday, all books that can be put into a bag will be sold for $5. This does not include DVDs and Blu-ray disks, along with collector’s items.
Friday, all day, all remaining items are free, except for DVDs, Blu-rays and collector’s items.
This is the last large sale the library staff plans to hold, so everything must go. Eventually, the staff plans to open an area in the library that will hold smaller, on-going book sales.
Proceeds from the sale go to the library staff development fund and library acquisitions.
