The unique partnership among The Pump House, The La Crosse Public Library and UW-La Crosse’s Murphy Library is called “P.S. Let’s Talk.” It’s designed as a “page to stage” experience of listening to performers read from a play on topics of concern.

The 10-part series brings the community together for the first time from 7-9 p.m. Friday, July 12, at The Pump House, 119 King St. Participants will listen to “Einstein’s Dreams,” a collection of vignettes adapted from the novel by Alan Lightman.

The play, adapted for stage and performed several times — even as a ballet, is a collection of small fictional imaginative stories on time that Einstein dreams while working on his theory of relativity. It will be followed by a moderated talk-back with play director Anne Drecktrah and community expert Emily Schiavone, assistant professor of engineering, mathematics and chemistry at Viterbo University. The event gives the audience a chance to participate in a thought-provoking and approachable community conversation about time, relativity, physics and what it means.
