UWL wrestlers eyeing a national championship in front of La Crosse crowd

When UWL seniors Dustin Weinmann and Richard Carlson hit the mat at the NCAA Division III wrestling national championship, they’ll be doing it in front of a friendly crowd. UWL is hosting the event starting March 10 at the La Crosse Center. “It’s definitely an advantage to be sleeping in your own bed,” says Carlson, who’s ranked third nationally. Weinmann, ranked first nationally, is eager to prove himself. “I heard it was going to be here at the end of my freshman year and it hit home to me,” he says. “It’s been something that’s been motivating me.
