Recycling is one component of increasing UW-L’s commitment to environmental and social sustainability. All on campus are encouraged to continue and improve their recycling habits. Place on-campus generated recyclable materials into labeled recycling containers in buildings or in the labeled containers adjacent to residence halls.
In addition to recycling, the competition measures the amount of waste generated per person. This performance measure is actually more important than recycling rates. The environmental benefits of reducing consumption and reusing what is consumed for other beneficial purposes far outweigh recycling.
Common materials recycled at UW-L include paper, cardboard, plastics, glass, aluminum and tin cans.
