Join us and claim your right to read! Murphy Library will be hosting its 4th Annual FREEDOM TO READ event, a banned books read-out with a short brown bag discussion about censorship.
Why and how books are banned? Is the practice of banning books ethical? What does it mean if a book is banned? Is it ever appropriate to ban a book based on its content? Is it the responsibility of the reader to determine if a book is right for themselves?
For more information about the event, contact Teri Holford-Talpe at Murphy Library, tholford-talpe@uwlax.edu (785-8944), Joe Hammes, jhammes@lacrosselibrary.org (789-7443) or Barry McKnight, bmcknight@Lacrosselibrary.org (789-8189).
