NCUR at UW-L week of April 8 showcases national, international students' talent

A full week of events is planned at UW-L in conjunction with the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR).

Undergraduates from 48 states and seven countries will present their research findings Thursday through Saturday, April 11-13. Food and culture from around the world will highlight the 48th Annual International Banquet Tuesday evening, April 9. And artwork from 36 college students around the country will be displayed Wednesday, April 10, through Saturday, April 13. 
Undergraduate research includes 3,050 presentations
NCUR promotes undergraduate research, providing a diverse population of students from around the world the opportunity to supplement knowledge from their classes with the creation of presentations in collaboration with faculty. Students from as far away as Valdosta State University in Georgia, Evergreen State College in Washington and Penn State will showcase 3,050 presentations. Undergraduates’ presentations represent 60 disciplines: biology, business, chemistry, communications, diversity, English, health science, history, math, physics, psychology and sociology. Find out more about the research presentations at  http://news.uwlax.edu/national-conference-on-undergraduate-research-at-uw-l-april-11-13-includes-3050-student-presentations/ International Banquet tickets available through April 9 The International Banquet brings together the talents of a variety of international and study abroad students, faculty and staff to offer an evening filled with ethnic foods and a myriad of performances involving cultural music, dancing and singing. The International Banquet is scheduled for Friday, April 12, in the Recreational Eagle Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. The banquet runs from 5:30-8:30.  Tickets are $20 per person, for all ages. Tickets can be purchased at the Cartwright Center Ticket Office or by calling 785.8898. Student art exhibit begins April 10
