MVACVolunteers are invited to help the Mississippi Valley Archaeology Center explore new archeological sites. An archaeological survey of local fields will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 3. The survey is one way MVAC will celebrate Wisconsin Archaeology month. The day will include an introduction at the archaeology laboratory, followed by a search of local fields for artifacts. At the end of the day, participants will bring artifacts back to the lab to wash them and learn about their history. Advanced registration is required as space is limited. Participants are encouraged to register early. Children may participate if accompanied by an adult. To register contact MVAC at 608.785.8454. The survey is free and open to the public.
