The latest spring fashions can be found much closer to home than a New York City runway. People from the La Crosse area will strut their stuff during the annual Project Funway fashion show at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 30, in front of the Macy’s entry inside Valley View Mall. The event is a spinoff of the Lifetime show “Project Runway,” a reality TV program where judges rate the best and worst fashion designs on the runway. The local event is an opportunity for people with disabilities, students, faculty and others to model new spring fashions from mall stores. UW-La Crosse students in the Occupational Therapy Association put on the annual fashion show. “As Occupational Therapy students, we strive for inclusion and trying to break down barriers between people with disabilities and without,” said Danielle Noe, a graduate student in UW-L’s Occupational Therapy Program. “This is an all-inclusive fashion show so it includes a diverse group of people from the community - of all levels of ability.” If you go— What: Project Funway Where: Valley View Mall When: 1 p.m. Saturday, April 30 Admission: Free
