UWL faculty provide insight into coulees, more

Spend time around La Crosse you’ll quickly hear the phrase, “Driftless Area.”

The moniker appears in advertisements, on T-shirts, in business names and more.

Coulee Region Women magazine, in its June/July 2019 issue, turned to two UWL faculty for answers about the unique slice of landscape we live in.

Joan Bunbury, associate professor of geography and earth science, and Cynthia Berlin, professor and chair of the Geography and Earth Science Department, provided the remedies to many questions in “A Guide to the Driftless Area: What’s a coulee? Learn this and more in this Driftless Area primer.”
