Walking into nearly any administrative office on campus, visitors will likely see a student worker behind the desk completing a variety of tasks.Student workers are an integral part of UW-L’s function, aiding many offices in essential assignments such as running errands, answering phone calls or filing important information.
Amanda DeCora, the 2013 recipient of UW-L’s Student Worker of the Year Award, is an outstanding example of how student workers provide on-campus offices with a level of dedication that ensures things run smoothly and great services are provided to students.

Her supervisor noted her professionalism and positive attitude makes her a joy to work with. As a single mother and full-time student, DeCora has nothing but positive words for her co-workers, describing them as genuinely concerned about students and great to talk to. As a non-traditional student returning to school after working for 15 years, DeCora cites job basics as one reason she excels. “I know how important it is to show up on time and be ready to work.”
